BLACK GIRLS ROCK WINNER: DESTINY SWEENEY-DURANT

HU students voted through email and decided Destiny Sweeney-Durant was deserving to be the winner of the Black Girls Rock competition. Destiny is a sophomore from Ashburn, VA who brought to HU this year her invention of PUMP BUTTONS. These accessories are beautifully decorated pins which are more then just a fashion statement. What makes them so cool is the fact she donates portions of sales to the American Heart Association for charity. Everyday black girls/women around the world are doing creative things for their community, and Destiny is doing just that on HU's campus. CONGRATS Destiny, and if you are interested in buying a pin contact her business partners Niambi Stinson (757-667-1529) or Jonee Love (571-439-5540).

MARIAH CAREY IS PREGNANT
Beyonce and Jay-Z said NO, but Mariah and Nick have confirmed with a YES. The couple went on The Today Show this morning to announce to the world that Mariah Carey was indeed pregnant and the sex of the baby would remain secret. I'm so happy for the couple being this is their first baby, but check out the video if you didn't see it earlier today.
